CAIRN

Self-aligning context system that maintains a versioned decision graph for a product or org — every decision is an immutable event, drift is detected against original intent, and humans act as judges rather than operators.

Vision

Keep teams true to their original intent across every decision, forever. Humans don't maintain it; they only judge it. The decision tree is traversable — ask "why did we build X?" and get the full chain, or undo a strategic shift and see the downstream effects.

Strategic Bets

  • LLM-native architecture (Claude-Code-style, not dashboard-with-AI-bolted-on)
  • Self-hosted backend, team-grade not single-player
  • Cold-start via natural conversation for early-stage teams

Objectives

  • Capture every decision and direction change as an immutable event
  • Continuously check alignment between current state and original intent
  • Surface drift with root-cause traceback to the originating decision
  • Bootstrap from existing GitHub / Slack / ClickUp history for established teams
